Our Story
In 2020, co-founders Chris Goodman and Elaine Goodman began asking three important questions: Is the UK’s funding gap growing? Why is it happening? And what does that mean for our local communities?
As they explored the challenges facing grassroots charities across the UK, one thing became clear. These small organisations were being stretched beyond capacity, yet continued to be a lifeline for the communities that relied on them most.
Believing that lasting change starts at a community level, they founded Focus Foundation – a charity committed to helping grassroots organisations access the funding, partnerships, and support they need to thrive.
Who We Support
The UK’s charity funding gap is growing. With 85% of funding going to the largest 6% of charities, smaller organisations struggle to compete for vital support and, without substantial marketing budgets, often go unheard.
Focus Foundation supports grassroots charities and social enterprises across the United Kingdom with an income of less than £1 million pounds annually.
By focusing on smaller organisations deeply connected to their communities, we can help ensure funding and support reaches the people who need it most, strengthening their work, growing their impact and empowering them to continue creating lasting change.
